Hi All!

Firstly thank you for visiting our website and if you are reading this having been involved in our charity or helped in any way - an even bigger thank you! I have been running THEY are Africa since 2012 and it is amazing to see the successes our children are having.

A personal highlight has to be seeing the likes of George, Raphael, Malik and Zipporah some of our first ever children now living great lives with great ambitions and supporting their communities. Our main goal when launching the charity was to ensure our support was sustainable and having a true impact on peoples lives. I am super proud of all the children and look forward to seeing all they can achieve in the future!

Hello everyone!

I'm currently a Primary School teacher in the UK teaching children who are 6 and 7 years old. I've always been passionate about children and helping them in any way possible. It was always an ambition of mine to travel to Africa and visit a variety of orphanages, hospitals and schools. It was through this ambition I got involved with THEY are Africa. My first visit was in 2015 where I met the children we were currently sponsoring and worked closely alongside Cameron and George.

I feel extremely blessed to be part of such a wonderful charity as being in contact with each and every child every day means it's more like a family.

George Owino

Ambassador

Hi I'm George.

Whilst coaching with Cricket Without Boundaries (CWB) I met Cameron and Tracey. They realised my situation and offered to come together to pay for my education at Tracom College. When I first met them I couldn't speak much English. I graduated university with a Social Work degree to help my community.

I now work mostly as an intermediate between They are Africa with Cam and Naomi and the children that are sponsored.

I help in preparing the yearly Big Christmas Feed and act as a channel between parents/ guardians and the charity. They helped me therefore I help them to help the children achieve what I have.

"What I love about the charity is they do not discriminate who to help as long as it's helping someone achieve their dream. "
